Acts of Kindness during COVID-19

June 25, 2020

You might have heard about Acts of Kindness (AOK) recently. The group of community volunteers has been busily and generously engaged in connecting with the community.  The need for the AOK group became more prominent as many of us were facing more isolation during coronavirus.

Building connections is an innate human need, and it’s something we recognise as part of each kind act.  Sometimes we connect over sharing a meal or a cup of tea. However, other people may connect by simply knowing they’re thought of. Deep talks. Shared experiences. Every human is different.

These are just a few of the recent moments of connection from the Acts of Kindness group:

  • Home handyman projects
  • Cupcake deliveries
  • Coles vouchers posted
  • Essential food and equipment deliveries
  • Flowers to remind people that we’re here
  • Plenty of phone and video chats for moral support

We wanted you to know that if you need anything, we’re always here. Kindness and connection are intertwined and often delivered in simple ways.

If you have a task for Acts of Kindness, please feel free to reach out to Celeste and Ian at [email protected] or send a message to our Facebook page here.
