Making the world a brighter place, one kind act at a time

Our Acts of Kindness (AOK) initiative supports members of our community.

Our volunteers help individuals and families to achieve more social connectedness and provide practical support when needed. AOK’s can take the form of anything required to improve a life, from sharing a cuppa together and providing essential food to supplying equipment and coordinating handyman projects in homes.

We are here so individuals and families always have someone they can turn to. We believe that kindness is contagious. And that with some simple acts, we can make the world a nicer place.

If you’d like to volunteer, request a kind act, nominate someone for an AOK, or have any questions, please email us at [email protected] or fill out the form below.

Jane* was feeling a bit down. For some time, she had communicated that her home was plain, and didn’t match her vibrant personality. Working with her team, Jane selected the colours and type of interior design style she wanted to brighten her home. Our AOK volunteers got to work with their paintbrushes to create the surprise makeover. Using AAC, Jane communicated that she is much happier in the space.

Sarah* and her daughter Mia* were moving home but some precious and personal items they needed help transporting with extra care. Our AOK volunteers put their hands straight up to help when they reached out. The family was so appreciative that they rewarded the whole Mamre team with a big plate of delicious home-baked cookies.

Billy* wasn’t very happy about having to spend Christmas in the hospital. Well our AOK Santa quickly put on his boots and headed down to the children’s ward with presents to spread some Christmas cheer. Billy’s face was enough to make the hot suit all worth it, along with the smiling faces of all the other children in the ward as well.

Acts of Kindness is funded entirely through generous donations. If you’d like to help, you can donate directly or purchase a raffle ticket.
