Speech Language Pathology

Communication is fundamental to much of life.  Being able to communicate our wishes, preferences, feelings and comment on what is going on is how we form relationships and express who we are in the world.

Our Speech Pathologist can provide support for participants of the NDIS relating to the following:

  • Specialised assessment of skills, abilities and needs
  • Therapeutic supports
  • Early intervention supports for early childhood
  • Communication information and equipment (eg speech generating device, communication board)

Speech Language Pathologists assist with:

  • Early feeding support, eating a range of foods and textures
  • Developing language skills including understanding a wider range of information and being able to express more detailed messages with more people in a range of settings
  • Learning to talk and saying sounds clearly
  • Social skills including having conversations and connecting with others
  • Increasing communication success with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and creating robust communication systems
  • Developing literacy skills in reading, writing and spelling
  • Strategies for communication partners (like you, your family members, carers, friends)
  • Visual supports for routines and understanding what is happening
