We are so excited to announce that Team Mamre has signed up to do our first Bridge to Brisbane on Sunday the 7th of November. Suitable for all ages, we’re encouraging everyone in the Mamre community (staff, supported people, families, and friends) to join #TeamMamre for some fresh air, a bit of exercise, and a great chance to connect with others.
The Bridge to Brisbane is also an opportunity for us to fundraise for our Acts of Kindness Project (AOK). All Acts of Kindness are completed by volunteers and funded entirely through donations. AOK is about facilitating connections and ensuring people and families in our community feel supported. A simple, kind gesture can lift spirits and make people feel connected. Over the years we have built things, moved things, fixed things, painted things, tidied up things, and delivered things.
We have volunteers who provide practical support when you need it. From sharing a cuppa and providing essentials, food, and equipment to coordinating handyman projects and any other acts of kindness to improve your life. We are here so you always feel like you have someone to turn to. If you want a helping hand and some extra kindness, please feel free to contact us.
PS – Did you know that support workers get a free ticket if accompanying a supported person on the day? If you want more info or have any questions, please feel free to email me as I am happy to help.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
