NDIS
What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) delivers the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Once you meet the eligibility criteria for the NDIS you will be able to talk to NDIA staff about your support needs. Funds will be provided to you as part of your NDIS Plan to enable you to purchase supports to enable you to live the life you choose.
This can include supports that assist with capacity building for greater independence, access to employment and supports to improve the quality of your life. As part of this process, you can also be connected to doctors, community groups, schools and support groups to suit your needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency whose role is to deliver the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The NDIS provides funding to participants to purchase supports to enable them to live the life they choose.
The NDIA sets the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits for participants and disability support providers to ensure participants receive value for money.
The NDIS covers items, activities and supports that are deemed reasonable and necessary to assist a person living with disability. There are three main categories of support the NDIS covers. These are: Core (assistance with daily living activities), Capital (investments such as assistive technology, equipment, home/vehicle modifications) and Capacity Building (supports that build independence and skills).
Not all types of required supports for people with disability are funded by the NDIS. Some supports are funded by other areas of government, such as state health systems, or existing public and community services.
No. The Disability Support Pension (DSP) is separate to the NDIS. If you are receiving the DSP, you are not automatically eligible for the NDIS. You will need to check your eligibility and apply for the NDIS.
Similarly, if you receive NDIS funding it will not impact any other government supports you receive, such as the DSP or Carer Allowance, bar one exception: Centrelink’s Mobility Allowance.
No. The purpose of the NDIS is to fund supports for people with disability to be able to engage in day-to-day activities. It was not designed to fund supports like assessments, diagnoses, treatment of health conditions and medication. These remain the responsibility of the health care system.

NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits
Mamre follows the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Structure and will never charge you more than the recommended rate. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) regularly reviews the price guide and sets prices that reflect wage inflation and market trends.
Price regulation is in place to ensure participants receive value for money in the supports they receive.
TTP Pricing
Mamre is eligible to charge the Temporary Transformation Payment (TTP). The TTP was introduced to assist providers who meet specific criteria to continue transforming their organisations to move towards a more competitive marketplace without compromising the quality of service.
