Mamre Privacy & Confidentiality
Mamre recognises the significant level of information it is responsible for protecting within the operations of its services. Information relating directly to the operational management and/or governance of the organisation remains the property of Mamre. Mamre endorses the 13 Privacy Principles from Schedule 1 of the Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012 (Cth), which amends the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Mamre requests that all information owned by the organisation is returned on completion of its relevance to the information holder, in particular:
Governance Board members will return all information including any copies of records, on cessation of their membership that was, in the first instance, distributed on the grounds of membership of the Governance Board e.g. minutes of meetings, contact details of remaining Governance Board members, induction information; and Staff will return all information in relation to operational matters of the organisation on completion of their employment. Mamre will assures families and individuals with a disability, governance board members, staff members and volunteers that information regarding their situation is kept confidential and private and that all considerations and legislative requirements under the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) will be met.
Consent
At Mamre, express consent is obtained from people receiving support services via a consent form completed by the individual, guardian, or nominee. This also occurs for the collection of images, especially those used for public purposes e.g. fundraising, marketing, and education. Express consent is obtained for each public use of personal details and images.
What happens when I share my personal information on your website or facebook page?
The Mamre website may use cookies to track site visits, navigate within Mamre sites and while using the donation facilities.
