Speech Therapy

Build skills that last a lifetime

Speech Therapy

Communication is a fundamental aspect of life. Our speech pathologists (affectionately known as Speechies) work with you to develop your literacy, speech, and language skills.

A speech pathologist will help you better communicate your wishes, preferences, comments, and feelings to those around you. This can help build and strengthen your relationships. As well as help express who you are! Speech pathologists are also able to assist with mealtimes and eating, drinking and swallowing.

Our Speech Therapy supports

Speech Pathologists work with you to develop literacy, speech and language skills and can also assist with mealtimes and eating, drinking and swallowing.

Play is a child’s occupation. Play lights up a child’s brain for learning and supports children to explore, engage, express themselves, use their imagination and make decisions.

Child development

The early years are important for children’s development and growth. A Speech Therapist will help your child learn new skills in play, communication, social connection, movement, behaviour and problem solving.

Having access to literacy means you can say what you want regardless of the way you communicate. Our team can assist with reading and writing for all ages.

Our Speech Therapists work with you to enhance or develop speech at any age. We work with you on sounds and words and assist you to achieve your speech goals.

Being understood and understanding information is important for all interactions. Our team will help you develop your skills so you can express yourself and build your communication abilities.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication

AAC is about saying what you want, when you want. Our team is highly experienced in a range of AAC systems and strategies. We also train communication partners such as support workers, family, teachers and friends.

Supported decision making

Supported decision making empowers people with complex communication needs to be in control of what happens in their life. Our team will work with you and your network to ensure your choices are heard and honoured.

Eating, drinking, mealtimes and swallowing

Speech Therapists assist you with eating and drinking, plus offer support for swallowing, developing mealtime plans and making sure you have the tools to make eating and drinking easier.

Assessments and reports

There are a range of speech, language, literacy and communication assessments. An assessment gives you information to make a plan for what you want to achieve and what support you need.

Mamre follow the recommended hourly rate for therapy in the NDIS Price Guide. Your GP or Paediatrician may refer you to therapy under Medicare. Please connect with your GP and discuss whether you are eligible for therapy services under Medicare. If you have private health insurance, you may be able to claim a rebate.
