At Mamre, we are always looking for ways to provide you with opportunities to take part in activities that you would like to. We listened to your suggestions and are delighted to let you know that we are holding a signing workshop at the Mamre Windsor office on Friday 25 August.
Signing is a great strategy and tool that can support the communication success of kids and adults with communication support needs. Signing offers a way for a person to express themselves when speech might not meet their needs.
This workshop will use signs from Auslan, the Australian sign language. It is suited for people of all ages wishing to learn key signs and for any family members, friends or supporters of people who have communication support needs.

Funding via NDIS available under capacity building - training for parents/carers.
This workshop will be presented by Mamre Speech Pathologist Jessica Preston. Jess is passionate about providing unique and creative services to help people communicate and improve engagement and relationships. She loves to upskill the important people in a person’s life through training and connecting.
At Mamre, we use a key sign approach to assist and augment communication when a person has communication access needs. We acknowledge that learning Auslan directly from the Deaf and hard of hearing community is a fabulous option for those seeking to learn Auslan as a signed language.
